5 Toddler Meal Ideas

5 Toddler Meal Ideas

I don't know about you other Mommas out there, but I love quick simple things to give to my tot for meals and snack during the day.

I go for the two snack rule and one of them has to be healthy. Whether it's a fruit, or a vegetable, it's going to be her snack. During the work week, (Mon-Fri) she goes to her Grammy's house to be dropped off and has breakfast there, so that won't be included because it's up to her Gram to choose what she has at the house.

Here is a quick look at what we give our daughter for lunches and snacks for the week,

Monday - Babysitters

AM Snack: Grapes

Lunch: Mac & Cheese w/Peas

PM Snack: Goldfish

Tuesday - Daycare

AM Snack:Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Lunch: Pasta w/ hidden mixed vegetable tomato sauce (get the recipe here)

PM Snack: Cucumber w/ ranch dressing

    • You’re welcome! It definitely helps to have a list of food and snack options and switch them around every week.

    • My daughter loves her healthy foods, so it’s easy to pack lunches for her. I’m glad my child isn’t the only one that loves her fruits and veggies!

    • Is it the food they are eating or that they want to play? When I was younger once in a while my mother made dinner more fun by laying out a blanket in the living room and we’d have a picnic dinner there! It was so much fun and my brothers and I ate everything that was put in front of us.

    • My daughter eats very healthy since I don’t really enjoy giving her junk. I’m more of a healthy eater too so she was used to seeing me eat everything.

  • Oatmeal with raisins and cheese quesadillas are the things my kiddos could never go without. My little one LOVES green beans and would literally eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which I’m totally fine with since they’re easy and great for him! I applaud you for getting your littles to eat cucumbers! Both of mine hated them the very first time they had them and every time since lol!

    • My daughter loves cheese quesadillas too with some salsa in it. We usually have some quesadillas for dinner because they are quick and simple! I had introduced really weird tasting things to my daughter first thinking hey if she doesn’t like this, she will love something more healthy. She loves them both, he go to thing to eat are dill pickles and those green olives with the red pepper in the middle.

    • If you need more, send me a message and I can email you a bigger list of the snacks and meals I give my daughter! I put it in a rotation each week so she won’t get bored of the same things.

  • These are really great meal ideas I’m still struggling with my son refusing to have any breakfast and will just not eat so I think I should try and do something like this and maybe finally he just might accept something.

    • In the mornings my daughter’s grandmother feeds her. But I had given her a list of breakfast selections for her so she didn’t have to have the same thing all the time. Some of them are, half a bagel with almond butter, half a banana with some cheerios, scrambled eggs with shredded hashbrowns, and puffed wheat with peanut butter & milk. She loves them so much. I hope your son starts eating breakfast! Even if it’s something small, try giving him a brunch like snack like a fruit and a handful of cheerios!

  • I’m a stay at home mom, so our daughter tends to just eat what I eat, except I cut it up for her. It totally varies. But some common foods we do are PB and J’s, cottage cheese, crackers, fruit cups, bananas and yogurt, oatmeal, steamed broccoli, steamed carrots

    • I used to be a stay at home mom, but it got to a point when I wanted more flavorful dishes and she didn’t. So I tried my best to make simple lunches for her when I had something different.

  • First of all — your logo is adorable!!! I do love the idea of cucumbers with ranch (I actually want some now for me!) and apple with PB is definitely a favorite. Here are some of my favorite lunchbox or home snacks:
    – Cherry tomatoes
    – Strawberries
    – Blueberries
    – Apple sauce
    – Organic fruit wraps (Trader Joe’s)
    – Sugar-free lemon loaf cake (Ralphs)
    – Baked beans and eggs (amazing power boost for breakfast)

    • Thank you! My fiance is a graphic designer and did it for me. I absolutely adore it! My daughter loves cherry tomatoes I cut them in half and give her ranch with them. Sometimes she’ll eat it with the ranch and other times, not so much. She has been going through a anything that resembles baby food, I won’t eat phase lately. Which is difficult since I know she’d love those pouches because she can hold them and eat them herself. I haven’t tried blueberries, so I’ll have to try those out! Thanks for some yummy suggestions!

    • I try to have a rotation of a few different meals and try to move them about every few weeks that way she doesn’t get bored of the same food and won’t eat it.

  • I really love this. I don’t have kids yet but I know a few friends who would love this information. I am definitely going to share this post.
